I am about to commence my Eagle Scout Project this coming week and wanted to know if there was an email list for our community that I could send some information to about my Eagle Project.
For my Eagle Project, I am looking to make a difference for those less fortunate and who are experiencing hunger during this difficult period.
I have decided to run a food drive for Jewish Family Services of Denver, Colorado (JFS). JFS is a non-profit, non-denominational organization feeding and helping community members from all backgrounds, races and religions through its numerous programs, including The Weinberg Food Pantry on Hampden Avenue. For more information about JFS, please visit the link above.
My project includes gathering donations from across the community. My goal is to collect at least 400 pounds worth of canned goods and other essential donations that JFS is in need of at this time. A full list can be found here. Top requests are canned beans, canned vegetables, baby wipes, canned tuna, rice (1 to 2 pound bags) and cereal.
I wanted to reach our Walnut Hills neighbors to see if the community is able to make a donation by sending me an email at jake@lazar.tv If so, I would drop off a bright neon green bag on front doorsteps. Inside the bag will be all the information needed to help participate! Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
I will be running my Eagle Scout Project from Monday, August 24th through Sunday, August 30th.
Troop 257 will pick up all bags on Sunday, August 30th.
Everything and anything our community can give will help those in need.
Thank you for your help.
I am looking forward to the impact we can make together!
Stay safe,
Jake Lazar
